A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words: be sure to take pictures of vehicles, injuries, and the incident site. If you are unable to collect photographs of your incident, vehicle, or injuries, we can arrange to have this done for you. Save all receipts from rental cars, prescriptions, repairs, and doctor’s visits, etc. Also keep all pill bottles, casts, crutches, boots, wraps, neck/back/leg braces, canes, walkers, wheel chairs, and any other items prescribed by your doctor(s).
Caution: the insurers, their adjusters, investigators, and their lawyers should not contact you directly but communicate through your attorney. Many insurance companies will place injured plaintiffs, such as yourself, under surveillance to make sure that they are complying with doctor’s orders. Please be mindful of the restrictions your doctor has given you, if any. This does not mean that you cannot go about your business and live your life as you normally would, but you do need to be careful and following all of your doctor’s advice.
What to expect: upon signing a contract with our office, we will notify insurers involved in your case that you are represented by an attorney. You will treat with medical doctors as needed and directed by your primary care physician. We will begin to order medical records and billing ledgers pertaining to your case. All correspondence relating to your case will come directly to our office, and will be copied to you. Mr. Cherry will research your case and work closely with you to achieve the best possible settlement result.
